Description
Provide administrative support to professional DDS staff responsible for determining eligibility for Social Security benefits for Oklahomans using Federal Social Security Administration provisions. Duties will include performing initial evaluations and requesting medical records (screening) on Social Security Disability claims, contacting Social Security disability applicants to complete forms and answer questions via phone. May also work a switchboard answering and directing incoming phone calls to individuals within our office. Accesses confidential information such as personal demographics, social security numbers, earnings records, work histories, prior disability filings & medical information using SS Electronic Query Systems/Disability Claims Systems. Identifies, enters and transfers sensitive information electronically to the appropriate destination within various SSA operating systems. Monitors consultative examination providers to ensure that scheduling is correct and medical reports are received timely. Arranges for the scheduling and/or purchases of medical evidence of record and consultative physical and mental examinations. Upon receipt, verifies medical records are complete prior to authorizing payment in accordance with Social Security Administration and Disability Determination Division policies and procedures. May also maintain vendor files. Performs tasks related to general office operations and other duties as assigned. Ideal candidate: • Good attention to detail • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Effective oral and written communication skills • Good computer skills (or at least the ability to learn): Excel, Adobe, Word and ability to navigate between several computer systems. • Good accuracy • Proficient typing and grammar skills • Good documentation skills • Good customer service & telephone skills • Good organization skills • Flexible based on the demands of the job • Willingness to complete and be responsible for other work duties as needed

Requirements
HS education preferred or one year of technical clerical office work, public contact work or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Federal background check required.
